Dennis Kucinich: “From Roxbury to Cleveland—Six Years Together”

Submitted by Bryan Buchan on 6-28-2010 – 1:27 pmComments

dkI am writing you today to ask you to join me at PDA’s national conference in my home town, Cleveland, from July 23rd-25th. Almost 6 years ago, at the conclusion of my 2004 primary campaign for President, Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) was launched in Roxbury, Massachusetts. (More information is available at pdamerica.org.)

Since its founding, PDA has consistently raised its voice on behalf of ending the occupations in Iraq and Afghanistan. PDA has stood by me as we kept up the push to end these wars, even when we stood mostly alone.

Earlier this year, PDA launched its very strategic series of Brown Bag Lunch Vigils in front of Congressional offices—now more than 100 each month!—to keep the street heat on. This is one of the most useful peace projects going on right now. (Click here for more information on the Brown Bag Lunch Vigils.)

PDA is also working hard on the effort to pass single-payer health care for all at the state level, an effort I wholeheartedly support.

Cleveland-Conference-webSoon I will join PDA in Cleveland, where I will be speaking at its national convention. Please join us—along with other progressive activists like Jim Hightower, Jeff Cohen, Donna Smith, Norman Solomon, Daniel Ellsberg and many more—in Cleveland July 23rd-25th, at PDA’s Grassroots Leadership Conference, as we plan strategy for the next year. I think it’s going to be a very useful meeting, and I hope to see you there!

Join PDA as we fight together for jobs and healthcare, and windmills, not wars.

Peace,

Dennis Kucinich

NOTE: If you can’t make it to Cleveland to see us, please consider making a contribution to support our work. Thanks, Tim!
