Just the profits that the health insurance companies make are enough to fund Medicare Part "E" (for EVERYONE) and Full Drug, Full Dental and Full Eye care. Part "E" would give care to all 40 million currently going without now easily. As in the rest of the civilized world profiting from healthcare must be made a crime here in America. If not Part "E" the only other choose is “private nonprofit only”, which will be abused by the corporations incharge. Medicare works use it please.

As a retired, disabled single professional, I am fortunate to I enjoy GREAT health care with Medicare and Kaiser Permanente my former employers, so no personal complaints; however, two of my adult grandchildren have been laid off from work and are unable to afford insurance. My granddarughter, therefore has had to resort to Emergency Room care for a broken bone in her foot. My grandson has an ongoing problem with a draining spinal cyst; much pain from three, yes! Three (3) failed surgeries in another state. He is not eligible for ANY insurance at this time because of the pre-existing condition. Both have found it necessary to drop college classes,(with only a few courses remaining necessary to graduate), give up their cars, no health insurance and no place to go. They are NOT unusual cases in this State or any other.

WHY ARE AMERICANS AND CALIFORNIANS WILLING TO TOLERATE SUCH ABUSE FROM PRIVATE INSURANCE COMPANIES? I AM VERY WILLING TO VOLUTEER FOR PHONE CALLS OR ANY OTHER ASSISTANCE THAT CAN BE DONE FROM MY HOME AND/OR WALKER!

Nothing can be done on ANY issue unless corporate money is removed from elections as Arizona and Maine have done. We need public funding of elections.without which you are knocking on doors that will never open.

I agree with all that was said on the podcast BUT I am convinced that nothing positive will happen on ANY issue of importance to the public as long as corporations, in this case the health insurance industry and the pharmaceutical industry run the government . In order to have FREE representatives who are not beholden to these powerful forces we must have publicly funded elections as in Maine and Arizona.Until every activist group identifies this as the primary problem we will only be knocking on doors that never open.In addition ,as long as the media presents only the corporate propaganda,we will have no strong voices for this happening as Donna mentioned. What is PDAs position and program to achieve on public funding, either in the states or federally.?
