Field Report: Central Kentucky Chapter, Single Payer Healthcare
Hi Health Care Reformers,
Click on the link below to see a photos from Friday’s “Heartless in Kentucky” press conference in the lobby of Lexington’s Government Center.

Sixteen of us showed up for Friday’s press conference; unfortunately, no media came. We went on anyway, reminding one another of the importance of this issue. So far Senator McConnell and his colleagues have not only failed to support Democratic proposals, they have yet to offer even a single piece of legislation that would significantly reduce the number of uninsured Americans (~ 375,000 Kentuckians!!!). In spite of the absence of media (maybe spurred on by this), we were a spirited group. The campaign to inform and energize Kentuckians for health care reform has just begun. Those present were members of Kentuckians for Single Payer Health Care, the Clergy & Laity Network of KY, the Central KY Council for Peace & Justice, Kentuckians for the Commonwealth, and the Democratic Women’s Network of Kentucky. Following the press conference, five of us went to Senator McConnell’s central Kentucky offices and presented our letter and the giant heart to a staff member there.
Yours for healthcare for all,
Richard
