I am so dissappointed in the Democrats. This bill is a joke! It hands millions of americans over to an exchange (code for the for profit insurance companies). Did you all know the real reason why Pelosi, Weiner didnt put the single payer amendment on the floor? Pelosi wouldnt let them. In fact, the insurance companies held a huge "fund raiser" for Pelosi the night before the vote Talk about screwed! And the progressives in the house did a lot of talking on every cable show they could get their mugs on...but caved at the last moment. I am so concerned that Pelosi even took out the provision permitting "states to adopt their own single payer health care systems". Now that is a slapp in the face to all american. Its 10th amendment time people...STATES RIGHTS NOW. Of course in order to have states rights on health care, it means every state would have to sue the government. HOW'S that for democracy in action? Pelosi and Reid will never get through anything meaningful. We should all just admit, our country has been consumed and taken over by Corporate Amerikkka. Thats the tune these demorats and repukes dance to. Talk about "taking our country back"....right am down with it...take our country back from corporate america who now owns the White House, the Congress and the Senate. Sick and disgusted. This morning I stopped being a demorat and became an independent. I will not give a penny or one minute of my time to ANY demorat ever again. Its over for me. The only hero was Dennis Kucinch the MAN WHO SHOULD BE PRESIDENT.

Thank goodness Kucinich voted NO on this atrocity. I almost lost all remaining faith in the world.

As it stands now, this is not health care reform. Not even close. How much less so will it be by the time it actually gets to a vote? The Democrats have squandered a once in a lifetime opportunity. They said "give us your support" and we gave it. They said "give us a majority in both houses" and we voted them in. They said "give us the White House" and we worked tirelessly to elect this President. And when it was showtime? More of the same old, same old, ineffectual glad handing and pandering to conservatives.

It's over.

Co-sign. And, can somebody tell me what we had to lose by forcing a vote as opposed to rolling over ... AGAIN?

So basically Kucinich, Conyers, and Weiner are going to vote for the bill. Will they also vote for the bill when it comes back from conference without a public option, with a huge tax on employer benefits, and without state single payer? Progressive leaders have left me confused and disappointed. I believe we should not be on record supporting sham health care reform.
