Bill Maher Is Hoping for a Little More Audacity

billmaherThe “Real Time” host has some harsh words for the president, who, he says, is caving to insurance companies, banks and polluters: “This is not getting the job done. And this is not what I voted for.”

Finally, someone is saying what so many of us are feeling. This is not what I voted for either. I want more. I expect more. This is more of whimpy Democrats not recognizing that what they are hearing in Washington has nothing to do with what the people want….what the VOTERS want.

    Bravo! Bill Maher.
Obama has played the role of a neo-con plant. He made us feel warm and fuzzy for electing a black man but he is only giving lip service to his campaign promises. The Bush Tax Cuts remain intact. Windfall profit tax on absurd oil company profits just another tough talking campaign lie. The Banks have “mad off” with billions of tax payer dollars. Obama has expanded the war into Afganastan and appears to be hedging on withdrawal of troops from Iraq. The Energy Bill promises more coal burning smokestacks rather than solar panels and windmills. Look for a very watery Healthcare Bill unless the public can create an uproar.

I think we need to start a Dennis Kucinich for President in 2012.

I hear you. Yes, what is Obama waiting for. If the Democrats are in charge, what' the slowdown. Regardless of how much I hated looking at
george Bush's face after eight years, he did whatever the hell he wanted. He broke laws, lied. killed and ignored the constitution. And did everything murderer Cheney told him to do. So why are we still waiting for National health care. Because Obama is not for it. As we are still in Iraq, Columbia and Afghanistan. I am a dual citizen of Canada and the US. The Canadian system works so well and propaganda has instilled fear as the Bush years did. I'm out of this one. It's not going to happen, a single payer option. We may get a watered down version which will only hurt the Democrats and all of the do-gooders and hopefuls who put Obama center front will return to the Republican racket. I have been fighting the “Drug War”, the war against plants. I know you are a reformer in the drug war. Marijuana has been proven to be safe. Any substance, whether food or whatever, used in an inappropriate manner will do damage to humans. Moderation is the key. Tell that to the legal alcohol abusers. And of course, when questioned about the legalization of pot, Obama simply smiled and said, “Not at this time.” If not now when. ON EVERY ISSUE. The Democrats hold the power now yet they behave like sheep. OK, that is it. I am on my way back to Canada. I do not watch television, however I have been watching your show on the internet. You are correct on 98% of the issues. My only problem with you, Bill, is your comments on sexism. You have been doing better and I am happy for that. After all, I am a woman with breasts that I used to feed both of my children. And yes, I was catholic too. As I also said before, the catholic schools, I went to St. Elizabeth's in NY, really do mess us up. But in time you get over it I hope. But I have to credit my school for giving me the best education one could get. In high school. I transferred to the public school. I was way ahead of the rest and could not believe the behavior of the students. Spit balls and all. But I have to admit that I had a good time in public school and did think the public school students were funny. Well, you probably do not even read these. I am going back to Canada. I give up on the pseudo reform here. In Canada, most of us are not rich, however we have quality of life. Something only the wealthy in the US know about. koolbreez

I am so glad to hear your comment. I am so sick of all the lies and all the BS that is growing louder and louder in this country. I have never been rich and have no desire to be. I am sick and tired of being afraid of what can be done to me by the corporations – especially insurance companies without my consent. My son and I are on our way out. Thanks again.
