Your definition of "Progressive" didn't sound a bit different from my understanding of "Liberal." I wish people would stop avoiding the label of liberal and give it the respectability it deserves. With such programs as the GI Bill, liberals enabled the mushrooming of the middle class after WWII.

Tim I watched you on CNN’s American Morning (December 9, 2008).I am very impressed and would like to tell you that I agree with you. I would also say that the job is just about to begin and so there is a lot of work beyond carbinet appointments. The real job is educating the millions of goodwill American who want change. It is just the begining of defining what kind of change America needs right now.
I hope efforts should be made in areas of educating the people, planning very meaningful and productive activities at the grasroot levels to increase the socio-economic and political awareness of Americans. For too long we have left a small group of very rich but unqualified individuals with poor understanding of the needs of the majority of Americans to lead this great nation. Now we can see the situation we have been led into. We have seen that results of the out-dated socio-political and economic theories followed to bring our economy down. It has always been about few rich getting richer and making profits at expence of the 99% of the population and then asking the tax payers to bail them out so they could continue making more profit. What can PDA do increase the awareness of the Americans? What is the PDA's stand on the current economic meltdown? What solutions short and long term can the PDA propose? Who is standing for the millions of Americans now at loss?
I have always believed that if we ellect officail who are intellectually bankrupt we would not only have a bankrupt economy in depression but nation as whole will be bankrupt in all aspects of life. So what can be done? How can we restore socio-economic and political justice?
