		<description>One clue to why she may have been arrested: Ebadi was championed by the National Endowment for Democracy, the people who funded coups against democratically-elected leaders in Haiti and Venezuela, and who generally promote capitalism at the expense of democracy. That doesn&#039;t mean Ebadi was a spy, of course--the NED may simply be exploiting her. But the NED taints everyone they touch.</description>
