2008 Democratic Platform Meetings–Comment Here
If you had a chance to read this article by Norman Solomon, then you know PDA is hard at work on the inside strategy for the health care plank of the 2008 Democratic Platform. In addition, PDA members working in coalition with our allies are mobilizing in their communities to attend the grassroots meetings, sponsored by the Obama campaign and the DNC.

Weve learned they are specifically looking for and will be more apt to use personal anecdotes of real people, real stories exemplifying the need for the the various planks we suggest. They should be written in short, interesting and engaging ways. Example: “I’m a 58 year old steelworker who was just laid off my job….” “I am a 32 year-old father and business owner. Repeated deployments in Iraq have wreaked havoc on my family….”
PDA and our progressive allies (The Institute for Policy Studies, The Backbone Campaign, Win Without War, the Grassroots Netroots Alliance, and Colorado progressives) have assembled easy to use resources to help you be as effective as possiblefind the Allies Platform Resource Page, here. Take language from these resources, combine it with your personal stories, and make it your own–believe in our power and authority to sculpt a mandate for change.
Good luck and let us know what you are able to accomplish in the coming weeks by posting your story or comments below.
