The grassroots group Progressive Democrats of America (PDA), which has had a good deal of success organizing activists who want the Democrats to take a more aggressive stance in challenging the administration, will play a critical role in the effort to mobilize support for the Conyers resolutions, as part of a new Censure Bush Coalition campaign. (The campaign’s website can be found at www.censurebush.org)

PDA director Tim Carpenter says his group plans to “mobilize and organize a broad base coalition that will demand action from Congress to investigate the lies of the Bush administration and their conduct related to the war in Iraq.”

Getting this Congress to get serious about maintaining checks and balances on the Bush administration will be a daunting task. But the recent revelations regarding domestic spying will make it easier. There are a lot of Americans who share the view of U.S. Senator Russ Feingold, D-Wisconsin, that Bush and Cheney have exceeded their authority. As Feingold says of Bush, “He is the president, not a king.”

I support efforts to impeach Bush and the whole gang in the White House who dragged this country into war and shamed America before the world.

we need to keep the pressure on the executive branch in order that demands for accountability be heard outside the choir. this administration will change course of action when the light of day is shined on them by citizens and politicians opposing them.

I support Rep. Conyers resolutions calling for censure and possible impeachment. Hopefully this time the hearings won't be held in the basement of the House! I cannot believe how the voice of democracy has been stifled in this country. The atrocities perpetuated by this administration on those who disagree with them is absolutely frightening. Accountability is long overdue!

I've waited four years to hear the call for censure and impeachment. I believe the extent of crimes committed calls for justice and swift action. Impeachment should take place prior to the 2006 election, or as close to it as possible. Americans need to know what has happened. Balance of power must be restored, and clean elections instated. Corruption punished. Halliburton and Bechtel need to rebuild Iraq and the Gulf states. Prison terms for this regime could be arranged in Abu Grahib or Gitmo; either would be most appropriate from what I know of their misdeeds.

We need to start calling radio talk shows, news outlets and contacting public forums of any and every stripe to raise this issue widely. The left seems to talk only to itself much of the time and we must hold our noses and call in to those obnoxious radio programs while in the car on the way to work, etc. Start reading the "politics" pages of Craigslist to see what people are talking about and add our own information about what impeachable offenses really are (they're not blowjobs)and kick the debate there up a notch. Freeway blogging is another way to go if you have the nerve. All it takes is cardboard, paint and a coat hanger with some duct tape (and a good getaway car)!
